Breathwork for the nervous system · Sydney

Slow down the system underneath everything.

Long Exhale is a breathwork practice built on plain-language nervous-system science, not wellness vibes. Three levels, one principle. Rooms of twelve. Sixty minutes to a different state.

Sessions in Newtown, the CBD and Randwick. Free Sunday session in the park. No studio lease, no ice baths, no gimmicks — just breath, done properly.

How it works

Three levels. One principle.

Three levels you move through, not a menu to compare. Every level rests on the same principle — a longer exhale than inhale tells your nervous system it's safe. What changes is the intensity, and what we do with the state once you're there.

Settle
Level 1 · 60 min · Slow

Extended-exhale and coherent breathing to bring the body down from a wired day. Best for stress, sleep and switching off.

  • Parasympathetic down-regulation
  • Ideal first session
  • Evening slots
Steady
Level 2 · 60 min · Balanced

Rhythmic up-and-down protocols that clear mental fog and leave you focused rather than flat. The lunchtime and morning session.

  • Focus and steady energy
  • Breath-hold training (light)
  • Morning and lunch slots
Surge
Level 3 · 75 min · Activating

Conscious-connected breathing with music, followed by a long landing. Emotional release, then deep rest. Not a first-session format.

  • Cathartic, held safely
  • Closing circle
  • After four prior sessions
Why the long exhale

The out-breath is the lever.

Your exhale is wired to the part of the nervous system that slows your heart and settles your body. Make it longer than the inhale, repeat for minutes, and the state change is physiological — not a mood you talk yourself into. We teach that lever properly, then build on it.

We don't overclaim. Breathwork is well supported for stress and state change; the research is younger for some of the bigger claims you'll see elsewhere. We say what we know and cite it.

Your own feedback loop

Ten seconds before. Ten seconds after.

Three questions on your phone as you arrive and as you leave. It's for you — to notice what shifts — and for us, to keep every session honest. It is not a medical measurement and we won't pretend it is.

Privacy: we store three scores and your email, nothing else. Anonymised after 30 days, deleted on request. Team reports are aggregate only, never fewer than eight people.

$29 a week. Locked for life.

The first thirty people set the culture. A weekly seat at $29 instead of $35 — for as long as you stay — plus the founder's number, first access to Surge nights, and your name on the wall when there is a wall. After thirty, this rate closes for good.

Founder

Built by someone who needed it.

Sabour came to breathwork the way most people do — wired, overcommitted and sceptical. He kept going because it worked, and kept asking why. Long Exhale is the answer: the practice he wanted to find in Sydney, built with an engineer's insistence on evidence and a practitioner's respect for the room.

Facilitator credentials, lineage and insurance details will be listed here before the first paid session.

Questions

Straight answers.

I've never done breathwork. Where do I start?

Settle. It's slow, it's safe, and you'll leave calmer than you arrived. The $69 intro fortnight gives you three sessions to learn it properly.

Is this safe?

Settle and Steady are suitable for most adults. Surge is stronger and we screen for it. If you're pregnant, have epilepsy, a cardiovascular condition, or a recent psychiatric hospitalisation, talk to us before booking and to your doctor first.

Why only breathwork? No ice bath, no sauna, no yoga?

Because doing one thing properly beats doing five things adequately. The constraint is the point. We'll add things when the method is proven, not before.

How is this different from The Breath Haus or an app?

We're smaller, founder-led and capped at twelve. There are three levels you progress through, not a menu. And you keep a guaranteed seat rather than competing for one.

What do I bring?

Comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and a mat if you have one (we bring spares). Eat lightly beforehand.

Can I cancel a membership?

Three-month minimum, then rolling with seven days' notice. Pause for travel or illness at no cost. Unused weekly seats roll over for one week.
